Gateway now runs on Ethereum, with vouches and World ID

The biggest Gateway update so far: Ethereum next to Hedera, vouches from people who know you, World ID and your wallet's history.

More ways to prove you're real

Proving you're a real person online usually means handing over your ID, your face or both, to someone who keeps them. Gateway was built to avoid that: you prove it once, and you keep the proof in your own wallet.

Until now there were few ways in: an ID check plus email, phone, a passkey or a Google account. Today there are more, and they are the ones we have been looking forward to most.

Vouches: trust the way it works offline

Long before documents, trust worked through people: someone who knows you says you are who you say you are. Vouches bring that online.

Ask two people who already have a Soverage credential to vouch for you. You send them a link; they open it, sign with their wallet and they're done. Each person can give two vouches a month and needs a score of 70 or more to give one.

Two phones. On the first, Gateway's Vouches window with a QR code and a link to share. On the second, the page a voucher sees: the person's score and identifier and a Vouch button.
You share a link. They see your score and identifier, never your personal data, and vouch with one wallet signature.

The vouch travels encrypted to your browser. Soverage holds the encrypted message for 30 days at most while it waits for you, and can't read it. Nobody, not even us, can see who vouched for whom. More in the docs.

World ID

If you have verified with World ID, one tap in World App proves you're human. Gateway receives a zero-knowledge proof: no biometrics and no personal data, only the fact that a verified person approved it. Only Orb verifications count.

Two phones. On the first, Gateway's World ID window with a Verify with World ID button. On the second, World's simulator showing the verified credentials that answer the request.
Gateway sends a request and World App answers with a zero-knowledge proof. The second phone shows World's simulator, a stand-in for World App.

Your wallet's history

An address with a real track record on Ethereum is harder to fake than a fresh one. Gateway reads the public activity of your address and turns it into a signal. It is available for Ethereum identities.

One credential, valid for a year

Your signals add up to a single credential, signed by Soverage and valid for one year. Add a signal later and update it: you get a new credential and the old one is revoked. Revocations are published on Hedera under a random id that says nothing about you.

Any app that reads W3C Verifiable Credentials can check it without asking Soverage.

What we keep

Your document image goes to our server and to Google Gemini for analysis, and is discarded right after. What stays is a hash (what we keep, in detail). On our server there are only encrypted vouches waiting to be picked up, for 30 days at most, and monthly vouch counters. Your keys and your credential stay in your browser.

Try it at gateway.soverage.com. The full list of changes is in the changelog.
